MONA Foundation

Who are we?

We work for the welfare of primates. We integrate different working methodologies that make us one of the few centers worldwide that fight for the survival of primates on all necessary fronts and, at the same time, provide excellent care for rescued primates.

Achievements

Rescues

We have rescued 30 primates and have collaborated in the rescue and rehoming of 33 more primates.

Visits

More than 90,000 visitors have taken a guided tour of our facilities and experienced the problem firsthand.

Educational workshops

Over 14,000 students have participated in educational workshops, and over 2,000 have completed our training courses.

Master's and Postgraduate Degrees in Primatology

Since 2013, we have been teaching the Master's and Postgraduate Degrees in Primatology together with the UdG Foundation. We have trained more than 100 students.

Research scholarships

We have awarded 8 ethology research grants.

European Voluntary Service

We are accredited to carry out projects for the European Voluntary Service (part of the European Union Erasmus + program).

British branch

In 2002, we founded MONA-UK, the British branch (based in Cambridge) that helps us disseminate our work and raise funds.

Economic independence

95% of our income is self-generated, meaning we do not rely on public subsidies to carry out our activities.
